The municipality of Teófilo Otoni, located in the northeastern region of the State of Minas Gerais, in the valley of the Mucuri River, is known internationally as “The world capital of precious stones” for concentrating thousands of people interested in purchasing and selling precious stones in an important trade fair.
Juscelino Kubitschek airport was once one of the most important in the region, from where daily flights left to the state capital, Belo Horizonte.
